HubSpot Credits are among the most important changes in how HubSpot offers usage-based features. If you’re using HubSpot and want to utilise the new AI tools, understanding how credits operate will help you estimate costs, manage usage, and maximise value.
HubSpot Credits are a unit of measurement used when you access certain usage-based features inside HubSpot. Instead of every feature being unlimited, credits act as a currency. For example, generating a Customer Agent response powered by Breeze AI, or executing an AI action in a workflow, consumes credits.
Credits may be consumed in two ways:
Per action – when an output is generated (e.g. handling a conversation, running an AI workflow step).
Per recurrence – when an output runs on a recurring basis (e.g. monthly intent monitoring).
👉 Why does HubSpot use credits at all?
Behind the scenes, AI features run on compute infrastructure, and that comes with a real cost. Credits give HubSpot a fair way to pass those costs on, while giving customers transparency and flexibility in how much they choose to consume.
The good news is that all Starter and above subscriptions now include an initial allocation of credits, allowing you to explore the AI tools and HubSpot credit system for evaluation. The highest subscription tier across your Hubs determines the number of credits you receive each month. Credits are not cumulative across multiple Hubs, and they also do not increase based on the number of paid seats.
Starter: 500 credits per month
Professional: 3,000 credits per month (5,000 for Data Hub/Customer Platform)
Enterprise: 5,000 credits per month (10,000 for Data Hub/Customer Platform)
For example:
If you have Marketing Hub Pro and Sales Hub Enterprise, your total monthly credits would be 5,000 (not 3,000 + 5,000).
If you have Sales Hub Enterprise with 5, 25, or 100 paid seats, your total monthly credits remain 5,000.
Credits reset at the start of each monthly cycle and do not roll over.
We've compiled this graphic to help detail rates, including the costs for overages.
Reset each month: credits refresh on day one of your billing cycle.
No rollover: unused credits expire.
Overages: if you run out, you can either:
enable auto-upgrade to the next credit pack for the rest of your term, or
allow pay-as-you-go billing for any extra credits you use (recommended for tighter budget controls)
Set a cap: admins can set a monthly credit limit. If you hit it, features pause until your next cycle (or until you raise the cap).
Track usage: usage is visible in your HubSpot billing dashboard, with alerts at 75%, 85% and 90% of your limit.
Here’s a breakdown (data sourced from the HubSpot Credits Rate Sheet) - as of October 2025:
Note: A growing number of HubSpot’s AI features are currently in beta and do not consume credits yet. For example, the Closing Agent, Call Recap Agent, and Blog Research Agent can be tested for free while in beta.
⚠️ However, HubSpot may begin charging credits for these features once they reach general availability. HubSpot aims to provide at least 30 days’ notice before a beta feature starts consuming credits, but this isn’t always guaranteed, given the pace of development.
HubSpot is shifting more of its advanced functionality into credit-based usage. For many teams, this means:
Flexibility - scale AI and data features up or down without changing your whole contract.
Transparency - clearer reporting of how much each feature consumes.
Control - spend only on the AI and data features you actually use.
Sustainability - credits ensure HubSpot can cover the compute costs of delivering AI at scale.
HubSpot Credits are now included monthly with your subscription and reset each cycle.
They are mainly used for Breeze AI agents, workflow actions, intent monitoring, and data syncs.
Credits are not cumulative across Hubs and do not increase with additional paid seats.
Some features consume credits per action, others per month (recurrence).
Beta AI features may currently be free, but are likely to consume credits in future.
Expect more AI and data-driven features to become credit-based over time.
HubSpot Credits are fast becoming central to how advanced features are delivered, especially with AI. Knowing how many you have, how they are consumed, and how to forecast future needs is essential for avoiding surprises and maximising your subscription.
